The attractive Calgary Cupola is my unique design  that is custom built to meet your barn, home, garage or garden shed needs. Using 100% local Canadian spruce, pine or fir woods or optional cedar, I build to match the slope of your roof. I offer painting and shingling, or I can deliver ready for you to sand, paint, or shingle. 

The Calgary Cupola comes in two components for the Garage sizes and Garden Shed - the cupola roof and the base - and three components for the Estate sizes - the roof, louver assembly and base.

There is an internal fastening system within the base, using a lag screw to your rooftop, is a simple and secure installation. Two tools are required for the base installation - a level, and a 3/8" ratchet or wrench. 

The Calgary Cupola roof cap is then placed on top of the base and secured with the eight (8x) supplied wood screws. The only tool required for the roof installation is the #2 square (#2 Robertson) screwdriver.

The Super Estate Cupola, Estate Cupola and Large Garage Cupola must be sent by truck because of their large shipping size. The Garage Cupola, Small Garage Cupola, Garden Shed Cupola and Gazebo Cupola go by the postal system.

Super Estate Cupola

I have developed the four foot cubed Super Estate Cupola. The assembled bare cupola weighs 160# and in a 5/12 pitch measures four feet square at the base trim line, 4 1/2  feet at the drip line, and almost 4 feet in height.

I build the Super Estate in three components and will ship it in one crate. The crate will measure 54 inches square and 22 inches high for a 5/12 pitch cupola. The cupola and crate weighs 220 pounds. 

Even if a larger size is desired,  I will look at your special needs and expand the plan accordingly, within reason. This is truly a custom handcrafted cupola.

I built two for Pebble Beach, California in a 4/12 pitch for a home (#66 & 69SE). The crate for the two measured 55 inches square and 48 inches height at 400 pounds. It was shipped 7 December 2000 and installed in April 2001.

Estate Cupola

The Estate Cupola in a 5/12 pitch measures 40" in height, 44" square at the drip line, 35" square at the beveled trim line in the base and 32" square at the base. The base including louvers weighs  65# and the cap 32# without roofing. With shingling, the cap weighs approximately 75#. It will require shipment by truck to you.

The Estate Cupola will ventilate 2500 square feet of ceiling space with the roof opened up underneath and a supply of fresh air available in the eaves. For a completely finished look, the 46" or 30" Whitehall aluminum weathervanes or  various copper weathervanes are appropriate.

Large Garage Cupola

The Large Garage Cupola in a 5/12 pitch, measures  28" in height,  34"square at the drip line, and 28" square at the base. The cap weighs 25# without roofing and the base 35#. It will ventilate 2000 square feet of ceiling space with the roof opened up underneath. A 30" Whitehall or Derco weathervane is appropriate. We adjusted the size of this cupola to make it the largest size that is acceptable for US UPS shipping (in a 5/12 pitch). For cupolas ordered in a pitch greater than 5/12 we can reduce the rows of louvers to maintain the overall height  within UPS shipping sizes. We can stretch the normal dimensions by 1 1/2" height and 2" width for a premium and send via US Post.

Garage Cupola

The Standard Garage Cupola is designed and economical for the detached double garage with 22 -28 linear feet of garage roofline. In a 5/12 pitch, it measures approximately 27" high, 28"square at the drip line and 22" at the base. The Garage Cupola will ventilate 900 square feet of ceiling space when the roof is opened up underneath. Weathervanes of either 24" or 30" height are appropriate.

Gazebo Cupola

The Gazebo Cupola measures approximately  22" high, 22" at the drip line and 18" across the base. It is made from premium western red cedar and comes unpainted. 

The cedar louvers  may be substituted with Lexan panels, with no change in price. There are eight removable plexiglass panels measuring approximately 4" x 9".

Small Garage Cupola

The Small Garage Cupola is appropriate where size needs scaling back. It is definitely appealing for the single door garage with up to 24 feet of linear roofline. It has been placed on secondary rooflines that are joined to the main roof. The Small Garage Cupola in a 5/12 pitch measures approximately 23" high, 23" inches at the roof drip line, and 19" at the base. It will ventilate up to 700 square feet of ceiling space when the roof is opened up underneath.

The 24" weathervane is appropriate. Both the Small Garage Cupola and 24" aluminum weathervane are economically priced.

Garden Shed Cupola

The Garden Shed Cupola is designed for accenting architectural house peaks, a child's playhouse, and garden sheds. As with all of the Calgary Cupola sizes, the Garden Cupola is handcrafted in two components. In a 5/12 pitch it measures approximately 19" high, 19" at the drip line and 16" at the base. The 24" weathervane is appropriate.
